Mixed Media Landscape
The Alaskan Landscape speaks for itself. I respond to elements of that landscape that speak to me. Multi-media satisfies numerous circumstances. Digital photography for the light and rain on Lake Otis Lake and pollinator results while on an urban landscape projects and ink, gouache, and mixed media for forest branches and chickadees on cold winter morning. A drive to Beluga Point and Homer always involves paint or photography. Landmarks such as Bishops Beach or Ninilchik Russian Orthodox Church continue to inspire. I create landscapes for fun and relaxation, and yes I do feel a need to respond to the beauty here.
